WHY WE EXIST
Our Mission at “POWER CITY” Church is to continually operate as a Kingdom-Driven, Christ-Centered global outreach center focused on the holistic development of people, communities and marketplace ministry.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
EVANGELISM
Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God.
He died for our sins and on the third morning He rose for our Justification.
According to scripture, accepting Christ as your Savior is the only way to heaven.
Our number one goal is and will always be the salvation of the lost. While we specialize in attracting men, the unsaved and the un-churched, and people who want a fresh start from the mistakes they have made in their past, we want to expand to reach people from other races, cultures and socio-economic classes.
THE VALUES OF “POWER CITY” CHURCH ARE UNDERGIRDED BY OUR 7 BEDROCK PRINCIPLES WHICH DRIVE OUR MINISTRY PURPOSE AND VISION
WE WILL seek the holistic improvement of each member of our ministry – spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially.
WE WILL preach and teach Biblical mandates to achieve success in all these areas. We will also make available the necessary classes, group resource and qualified individuals to help each willing member achieve holistic improvement.
WE WILL empower youth in our church and community with the Word of God, programs, resources, training and state-of-the-art facilities to meet their needs.

WE WILL always specialize in outreach programs for hurting people (i.e. homeless, poor, those with substance abuse issues, the incarcerated, those who have suffered physical, verbal or emotional abuse, etc).
WE WILL continue to be the model for excellent ministry in our city and in the nation. We will always strive to be excellent in our customer service – how we treat our members, visitors and guests from the moment they pull into our parking lot to when they leave, and how we respond to them when they call, email or write with request or concerns. We will be the standard for excellence in how we do people.
WE WILL stay humble and maintain the spirit of love and realness that we’ve had since our inception at all times and give all credit and glory to God for our success.
BEDROCK SCRIPTURE
Our fulfillment of the vision of “POWER CITY” Church from year to year rests heavily on the abiding Words of Jesus Christ, who gives us the Bedrock Scripture of our ministry:
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. – Matthew 25:35-36 (NASB)

By applying this scripture, we are carrying out one of the greatest calls of our ministry, to provide outreach to our members and surrounding communities. As stated in Matthew by Christ Himself, outreach is at the heart of God and we will not forget that at “POWER CITY” Church.
PASTOR MICHAEL "PASTOR MIKE" DEAN
Lead Pastor of Power City Church
He didn’t come from legacy, he came from the struggle. But that’s what makes him dangerous to darkness.
Pastor Mike Dean is not your traditional preacher. He is a voice for the voiceless, a burden breaker, a kingdom builder, and a walking testimony that God still raises up leaders from low places. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Pastor Mike grew up in poverty, in a single parent home, raised by a mother whose prayers held the house together when everything else was falling apart.
He didn’t come from church, he came through trauma. He knows what it feels like to wrestle with identity, fight through generational curses, and still show up with a word in his mouth and fire in his bones. A teenage father, a former dropout, and a man marked by loss, including the passing of his mother—Pastor Mike is not preaching theory, he’s preaching survival, redemption, and resurrection.
In 2009, Pastor Mike founded Power City Church, where the presence of God is real, the people are loved, and purpose is activated. Power City is more than a church, it’s a movement. Under his leadership, it has become a place where the broken get rebuilt, the overlooked get equipped, and everyday people discover their divine assignment.
He is also the author of the powerful memoir What If I Had a Father, The Man I Never Knew, a soul-stirring journey of healing and reconciliation for fatherless sons and daughters. His best-selling book, Grown and Alone, Dating with Purpose, has helped thousands navigate the tension between singleness, purpose, and love in a culture of compromise.
Pastor Mike preaches with boldness, lives with authenticity, and leads with compassion. His messages are drenched in truth, filled with revelation, and delivered with a street-level swagger that speaks to both the sanctuary and the streets. He is a shepherd with a warrior’s heart, called to restore families, grow faith, and teach people how to walk in favor even when they come from famine.
Alongside his wife, First Lady Valentina “Lady V” Dean, he has been married for 20 years. Together, they are raising four beautiful daughters, building a legacy of faith, and leading people into freedom.
Pastor Mike is not just a pastor, he is a product of God’s grace, and he is your reminder that you don’t have to come from it to be called to it. When God places His hand on you, your past becomes fuel, your pain becomes power, and your purpose becomes unstoppable.
FIRST LADY VALENTINA "LADY V" DEAN
First Lady of Power City Church
She didn’t just survive, she rose.
Lady V is what grace looks like in motion. A woman who carries both oil and wisdom, war wounds and worship. When she steps into a room, something shifts, not because she demands attention, but because she has lived through what others didn’t make it out of.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Lady V grew up in poverty. Raised by a resilient mother who held her family together through faith and quiet strength, she witnessed firsthand the pain of domestic violence and the beauty of perseverance. That same strength is now woven into the very fabric of her ministry.
She became a mother in her teens, while Pastor Mike was navigating fatherhood in his. They didn’t meet each other at the top, they met on the climb, carrying potential, pain, and purpose. Together, they overcame the weight of generational struggle, endured the grief of losing their mothers, and emerged with a testimony soaked in God’s grace.

Today, Lady V leads Faith Chat, the women’s ministry of Power City Church. Faith Chat is more than a gathering, it is a movement. It is where women come to be seen, heard, and healed. With every word she speaks, Lady V reminds women that broken places can still produce beauty, and that their past does not disqualify their purpose.

For 20 years, she has stood beside her husband, Pastor Mike Dean, building a church, raising four beautiful daughters, and pouring life into every woman who crosses her path. She is a spiritual midwife, a mentor, and a mirror, reflecting what is possible when God steps into your story.
Lady V is not just a title, she is a testimony. And she is your reminder that God still writes comeback stories.
